What you will be doing:
Work with cross-department finance business partners, enterprise Data/Bi engineers, and own the end-to-end delivery of data warehouse platform improvements, which includes documenting and prioritizing user stories, demoing solution designs, and testing and release changes into a Production Data Warehouse Environment
Understanding finance & accounting processes and data with the intent of implementing finance-based BI dashboards and automated reports
Analyze data from multiple sources, identify gaps, reconcile conflicts, and process metrics and details to drive decision-making. Provide guidance to Finance business partners in constructing data metrics, statistics, and analysis.
Serve as a data subject matter expert in projects to support Finance (ERP/Accounting/RevRec) related initiatives or other automation efforts leveraging the Finance data assets and applications.
Transform Accounting & Finance stakeholder needs into technical resources
Take full ownership of the reporting database used by the accounting and finance team to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and usefulness of the infrastructure
Bachelor’s Degree in information systems, computer science, accounting, or equivalent experience
4+ years of professional experience working with SaaS datasets (SFDC, NetSuite, Coupa, and other SaaS application) and data engineering teams in a high scale environment
Strong SQL query experience (must be able to analyze large, complex data sets). Knowledge of Python programming, or other object-oriented language is desirable.
Experience with NetSuite ERP (GL, AP, AR, etc) and NetSuite Data structures (OTC, PTP, RTR)
Experience with Data Warehouse Techniques (Data Modeling, ETL, Database systems, Business Intelligence) in SaaS stack such as Snowflake, Tableau, Domo, etc.
Exposure to Data Processes in SaaS business applications such as NetSuite, SFDC, Coupa, etc.
Strong understanding of common accounting processes and data requirements
Understanding of common account reporting principals and requirements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, AP & AR Aging, etc)
Familiar with PM methodologies (e.g., Agile, Kanban, etc.) and knowledge of when to apply methodologies.
Experience in a subscription-based software organization preferred
Excellent grasp of all Microsoft 365 applications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Aptitude in data management, analytics and reporting preparation
Ability to function in an autonomous environment—independent worker, self directed
